Niamh Keane has been quietly establishing herself as a diverse and multi-talented performer in the Irish music scene.

Her music is a blended world of Irish folk, singer-songwriter and classical influences with an angelic vocal at the centre. A singer, violinist, pianist, guitarist, songwriter and educator, she has years of Western classical and Irish traditional music playing behind her. Keane's influences include Madison Cunningham, Laura Marling and Declan O'Rourke and she is inspired to write emotive and melodic songs that weave stories and beautiful sonic arrangements. 

With support slots with esteemed artists such as John Spillane and Dani Larkin alongside opening for artists like Emma Langford, KÍLA, Stocktons Wing, Damien Dempsey she's been quietly establishing herself within the scene since the release of her debut EP in 2020. 2023 saw the release of her single titled 'Imprints'; a song that bares the soul and the impressions that loved ones leave on your life. Her song 'Lake Michigan' was featured on Fred Agains instagram profile causing a bit of a stir on her social media pages. Fresh from a sunshine drenched performance at Galway Folk Festival she's released her self-produced debut album A Stretch of Light with a string of live shows around Ireland. The singles 'Mornings Past', 'Tar Aníos' & 'I Can't Get You Off My Mind' received airplay on RTE Lyric, BBC Introducing, Radio Nova and KCLR FM.

Awarded funding by South Dublin County Councils Local Live Performance Scheme, she has established herself as a musical force in her own community by gathering local people together in libraries and cafes for music performances. To date, she has been nominated as a finalist in the National Christie Hennessy Songwriting Contest among 400 applicants and received 2nd place in the Pan Celtic National Song Contest.

A Stretch of Light releases on Friday the 21st of August '26. With shades of darkness and light, it’s bound to bewitch you. Storytelling is at the heart of this album with songs inspired by the battle of Rathangan town (Tar Aníos) alongside personal stories of family (Mornings Past, Rita’s Song) and a dreamy ‘I love you because’ lullaby (After Midnight). This seven track folk album will hold you close with its understated simplicity and sentiment. “These songs exist because of my grá for storytelling and music. Songwriting is an act of remembering and sharing that I really treasure”.
