Her considered folk craft makes space for light and shade with a singular nuance...'Imprints' is a gossamer ode to unconditional love that, across two contrasting chord progressions, gently pivots between a sense of darkness and release.”

Niamh Keane has been quietly establishing herself as a diverse and multi-talented performer in the Irish music scene.

Her music is a blended world of folk, singer-songwriter and classical influences with an angelic vocal at the centre. A singer, violinist, pianist, guitarist, songwriter and educator, she has years of Western classical and Irish trad music playing behind her. Recently named an Irish Language Network area, her local area Clondalkin is brimming with a vibrant arts scene. Keane's influences include Madison Cunningham and Declan O'Rourke and she is inspired to write emotive and melodic songs that weave stories and beautiful sonic arrangements.

Having been writing and playing as a songwriting artist since 2016, she's been a frequent guest of the Ruby Sessions and Electric Picnic. Ten years later, it's set to be an exciting year with her debut album 'A Stretch of Light' scheduled for release this summer.

2023 saw the release of her first single in two years titled 'Imprints'; a song that bares the soul and the impressions that loved ones leave on your life. Her song 'Lake Michigan' has even been featured on Fred Agains instagram profile causing a bit of a stir on her social media pages recently.

Recent live performances included a double headline folk concert with legendary songwriter John Spillane for the Dublin Simon Community and a live television performance as a session violinist for U2's Bono and the Edge. Awarded funding by South Dublin County Councils Local Live Performance Scheme, she has established herself as a musical force in her own community by gathering local people together in libraries and cafes for music performances. She has played support slots for Irish acts such as KILA, Damien Dempsey, Stocktons Wing, Emma Langford, and new Irish trad band Wickerlight. To date, she has been nominated as a finalist in the National Christie Hennessy Songwriting Contest among 400 applicants and received 2nd place in the Pan Celtic National Song Contest.
